Europe's largest inhabited medieval city, which rightly appears on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites, should be your first and last stop in any exploration of the island. In the once refuge of the Knights of St. John (1309-1522), time seems to have stopped still several centuries ago. Walk along the well-preserved medieval walls, gates and the atmospheric Street of the Knights. Visit the imposing Palace of the Grand Master (now housing the Byzantine Museum) and the Hospital built by the Knights (currently housing the Archaeological Museum). Be sure to stop at one of the dozens of excellent cafes and restaurants. And feel the living connection with antiquity by taking a picture of the bronze deers in the old port, where the feet of the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, is thought to have been located.

While we appreciate the challenge of getting away from the refreshing coolness of our pool, located on the center of Paradise Garden, the only thing certain is that the area's beaches will prove worthwhile. The windless beach of Kolymbia (2.6 km, 4 minutes by car) and the pebbled Afandou, which is Rhodes largest beach (6.2 km, 7 minutes by car), stretch right in front of you. Also nearby, you will find the pebbled and quiet Traganou beach (8.4 km, 10 minutes by car) and the well known Anthony Quinn beach. The latter became famous as the shooting location of the 1961 movie "The Guns of Navarone", starring the namesake actor (12 km, 10 minutes by car). Respectively, in the direction of Lindos, the first beach you will encounter is wonderful Tsambika with the golden sand and the breathtaking view from the famous monastery, which is perched high on the rock (4.2 km, 6 minutes by car).

Just a 5-minute drive from Paradise Garden (3.3 km) you can find Rhodes's most famous nature lovers destination. These are seven natural springs that gush water, which becomes a small river and ends in an artificial lake. The water flows through a narrow 150-meter tunnel built by the Italians in the 1920s to facilitate water transfer to the artificial lake. A genuinely fairytale setting full of pines and plane trees that is worth experiencing.

Located in the southernmost part of the island, it is famous for the strong winds that prevail here and, at the same time, is a critical habitat and protected Natura 2000 area. It is incredibly photogenic in the summer when a narrow strip of sand (500 meters long) connects it with Rhodes and divides the Carpathian Sea in two.

A breathtaking listed village located on the southeast side of the island with narrow cobbled streets, houses with paved courtyards with intricate pebble designs and imposing captain's homes. At the top stands the majestic Acropolis of Lindos with the ruins of the 4th century BC Athena Lindia temple, the Propylaea and the Byzantine church of Agios Ioannis. From the Acropolis, you will admire from above the small port of Apostolos Pavlos that is nestled in the rocks
